In case you didn't already know on Saturday 13th July 2024, Tiverton Canal Co are holding a 50th Anniversary Party for the Tiverton Horse Drawn Barge! One of Mid Devon's best tourist attractions!
The Horse-Drawn Barge will be in the Tiverton Wharf all day with events going on in the Wharf including two Bands, Swing Boats, Food Stalls, Craft Stalls, Ducks Ditty Floating Cafe Bar, etc...
Bring a blanket and join in the celebrations of our 50th year of the Horse-Drawn Barge. A history wall of the last 50 years of the Horse-Drawn Barge in Tiverton, Devon will also be on display
Parking for the Tiverton Canal Open Day
Parking is limited at the Canal Basin car park and we expect it to be full by late morning. We therefore strongly urge visitors to walk or cycle to the event on Saturday.
Once the car park is full, our signage will be redirecting drivers to the Phoenix Lane multi-storey car park. This is about a 15 minute walk away and the route to the canal is waymarked by the colourful new fingerposts located throughout the town.
We will be setting aside some extra blue badge spaces in the Canal Hill car park, but once they are full, they are full. An alternative travel option is to catch the Tidcombe Circular bus from the bus station, with a stop on Canal Hill not far from the Canal Basin. For more details call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.
