1. Ideas: For longer hires we recommend packing a picnic, or something to eat and drink, (Food, Drink and Ice Cream is also available from the Ducks Ditty Cafe Bar before/after your boat trip) Pack a blanket and a couple of small cushions, if you have a dog make sure you have lead & poop bags. Also recommended is packing the sun cream and sun hats or if the weather is changeable pack the Macs! It's also best to use the toilet facilities in the basin before leaving on your boat journey. Finally in the very rare occasion of a breakdown or emergency we recommend taking your mobile phone on the boat, make sure all your private possessions (including your phone) are insured in case something should happen to them.(waterproof mobile phone covers also recommend)
2. Time: Make sure "you leave plenty of time" to hire the Day Boat, as you will need time to read and agree to our conditions of hire and fill out the paperwork. You will also need time for a staff member to take your "skipper" over the introduction and hand over (Usually about 10 - 15 min) will also need a little time at the end of your hire to allow our staff to check the boat over before deposit return.(In accordance with the terms and conditions of hire)
3. How Long should we Hire the Day Boat for ?
We are happy to hire for just 1 hour, but for value for money we recommend a minimum of a
2 hour hire, however our customers tell us that a minimum of 3 to 4 hours will give you time to stop along the canal for your picnic. We have also had glowing feedback for our 6 hour hire too, as more and more families are hiring the boats for the day with a picnic for a relaxing day out.

The rowing boats are extremely stable. Before or after your higher boat session, the Ducks Ditty Cafe Bar is on hand for Food, Drinks and Ice Cream.

>. "We cannot fault this lovely attraction. We hired out a boat for 2 hours and had a lovely time in bright sunshine - two adults and two teenagers - who all equally enjoyed it. The boat was lovely and clean and we had good instruction on what to do if things were to go wrong so felt more than capable should anything happen. We would definitely come again." Nikki M
>. "My boyfriends family and myself went on holiday to devon, we came across Tiverton Canal Company by chance. We hired a boat for two hours, there was a tutorial carried out to ensure the boat would be used correctly and safety and just general information about the boat. I was quite happy to sit back and relax in the sun looking at the passing scenery whilst the men steered the boat. The family that run this company couldn't be more accomodating and friendly. I would definitely reccomend taking the time to go to tiverton canal, its well worth a try!" Natash JT
>. On our recent visit to the canal (16th Aug) whilst on the boat 'Mole,' we saw three kingfishers. Lovely! How unusual Maria Percy
