Privately owned by the Brind family and run as a Living Heritage Canal Tourist Attraction. In 2014 the Brind family celebrated 40 years of the Horse-Drawn Barge at Tiverton.

Things to Do:

  • Take a trip on our Horse-Drawn Barge or hire the barge for your private party in the Day or Evening.
     
  • Hire a one of the Canadian Canoes, or Rowing Boats.                                                                   
  • Relax at the truly unique, floating, canal side, Ducks Ditty Café Bar.
     
  • Browse the canalside Gift shop and Ticket Office.
     
  • Get up close and Meet the Horses in person as they rest inbetween trips.                                    
  • Explore the Canal Visiter Centre  (includes high-tech interactive touchscreen displays)

The Grand Western Canal - Country Park

The Grand Western Canal Country Park and local nature reserve is owned and managed by Devon County Council. With free access all year round, walkers, cyclists, anglers, wildlife lovers and boaters can enjoy all 11 miles of this quiet and unspoilt waterway.
